Hello! I am Dr. Rashkis, please call me Julie.

As a lifelong competitive athlete, I've always been drawn to the connection between how we feel physically and how we function emotionally. That intersection — between body, mind, and life circumstances — is what brought me to psychology and what continues to drive my clinical work today. I'm dedicated to helping people find purpose, deep connection, and fulfillment, especially during the chapters of life when those things feel most out of reach.

Over more than 20 years of clinical practice, my approach has always centered on strengths rather than deficits — what is working in your life, and how we build from there. I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create treatment that is evidence-based, practically grounded, and tailored to you. My goal is a genuine partnership — one where you feel supported, challenged, and ultimately more equipped to navigate whatever midlife is bringing your way.

My work is grounded in a biopsychosocial framework — which simply means that I consider the whole picture. Your biology, your psychology, and your social world don't operate in silos, and neither does good therapy. This is especially true in midlife, when hormonal shifts, identity changes, relationship stress, and life transitions are often happening all at once. Understanding how these forces interact is what allows us to create lasting change, not just symptom relief.

I'm also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner — one of the only private-practice psychologists in the country to hold this credential. This means I bring both clinical training in mental health and specialized expertise in the hormonal and physiological changes of the menopause transition. For my clients navigating perimenopause or menopause, this combination makes a meaningful difference.
